How does one remove this . . . ?

why are you removing it?

two reasons
1. i am going to replace the bulb
2. the headliner vinyl is shrinking, bubbling and i am going to replace it with a used one.

i dont believe you can remove the bezel without dropping the header panel, which you are going to do anyhow.

Err, wrong.

You get a flat head under the...right side i believe and pry down, one side has plastic tabs that hold it up, the other is pressure clips. Pop the pressure clips off and it falls off.

And the front bezel can be removed by taking off the rear view mirror, unscrewing the mounting plate, taking off both visors, and unscrewing the row of screws at the front of the sunroof.

The A pillars need to be removed as well. They just pop off.

I just replaced my map light. Pry from the right side. It literally pops out and back in but can be a little tight so you might need to work it so you don't crack the bezel. Use a broader flathead or something. Also you can download the service manual that is mentioned towards the beginning of the forum.
