Remove antenna -outside ring. then turn on ignition / turn on radio. The antenna should raise up...... as it does, carefully "help" the antenna up, and it should raise completely out... plastic teeth band and all.

NOTE the way the teeth are pointed when it comes out.
New antenna shaft..... feed plastic teeth into tube until it feels like it stops...
With a slight pressure, "help" it down, when you turn radio on, ..it should feed back into the coil gears / housing.
Return exterior ring back onto fender mount.
Done
In short.... remove ring at fender - antenna will come up & out.
Reverse to install new.
