First of all, no soft cloth car wash as it scratches the car.

I use coin-wash to spray off dirt, but I don't use the foam, coz they could damage the clear coat and leaves it dull. Then I do the shampoo at home and then wipe off with chamois. Car wash should not be done in broad daylight as you may leave spots if you are not fast enough, and the heat also damages the paint.

I clean the parts with most human contacts weekly, like shift knob, door handle and steering wheel. Also clean the door sills and the seat underside to remove any dirt when entering / leaving car. Seats surfaces are cleaned every other week. This keeps the leather clean and prevents aging under the sun. The dash and other vinyl parts are cleaned as necessary.

Try to wax the car to protect the paint.
