no records, that's a big gamble. i would take a look at it. hear it run make sure the soft top works and then if you really do like it see if you can bring it to a mechanic just to look it over. that's what i did before i got my car. about $250 dollars but worth it because there can be stuff wrong you just cant tell unless you know these cars well.

Is the reason for selling because "brother in law doesn't want to fix it anymore"? or brother sees something notgood coming?
Is passing smog check a strong selling point to advertise?

Even though it's advertised as "CLEAN, NO MECHANICAL PROBLEM. COLD AC, WELL MAINTAIN ", reserve $750-$2K for unknown/unanticipated maintenance/repairs during ownership.
