Since an engine swap and loads of problems (v-class ambiente auto diesel w638) the immobiliser sporadically kicks in when the ignition is turned off. Not always, mainly when you least need it to, like getting diesel at a garage or whenever the wife uses it! If you leave it for 15 minutes or so it seems to reset itself but it is a pain in the arse. Is there a way of disconnected it completely? I'm sure it is related to the engine swap which isn't yet resolved (radiator fan on constantly, EDC light on dash) but I'm hoping that this is one issue I can resolve myself without paying a mechanic more money!
