How do I import my phone book into Comand?

The manual doesn't say anything helpful. I've got a new C300 with Multimedia package and a Motorola W385. Can I get my phone book into Comand directly or do I need to enter each number manually?

With my phone I just enter the phone book, select all entries (or all I want to transfer) and then send all as a business card (vCard) to my COMAND. The whole phone book can be transferred in one go. It may be a bit different with your Motorola phone but the idea should be the same.

If yours doesn't work, it means your phone isn't compatible.

That isn't completely accurate. The US W221 for example does have a local phone book. You can store phone book entries that are available even if the phone was not in the cradle (in the car). I did not check this really for the W204 but I'm pretty sure it has the same functionality (and some more).

Phone book

The COMAND phone book contains all address book entries that have at least one telephone number. COMAND also reads the phone book entries stored in the phone book on the mobile phone and displays them in the COMAND phone book.
If there is an entry stored both in the address book and in the phone book of the mobile phone, the COMAND phone book will only display the address book entry.
Calling up the COMAND phone book

Select Telephone

Name.
The COMAND phone book appears.

I did not know about the newer versions so thanks to Diesel Benz for the information.

True, of course when you say it but what Kent stated was like all US Comands behaved like that. This was not accurate as the later versions of US Comands do have a local phone book and they can store phone book and address book info.

These too download the phone book from the phone and then show the combination (duplicated entries shown only once). And the question was from a W204 owner who would have the very latest Comand version. This is why I wanted to emphasise the existence of this feature.

I don't think this would be a compatibility issue, at your phone or at the COMAND. It is just a phone user interface feature allowing to send multiple visitor cards on one go. Perhaps you could find it from your phone user manual (my Nokia certainly has the feature, it may not be that straightforward to find from your phone, perhaps it even does not exist but I would have a look at the manual).
