Hi all-

The hose between the block and the water pump sprung a leak. The hose is only about 4 inches long but the problem is the gap between the 2 pipes (1 the block and the other water pump) is less then a quarter inch. The thickness of the new hose will not pass through. I really don't want to remove a perfectly working water pump to replace the hose. Help!

I hear you about the clearance between the two pipes. But I'm sure I've read of guys lubing up the hose real well, folding it in half and working it into place.

It's got to be worth a try!

THAT is one job I'm glad I didn't have to deal with in 12 years of owning a 300SE. When you get it sorted out update your profile (UserCP at top of page) with what ya got and more importantly where you are, never know, one of us may be just around the corner from ya :wink

sadly, you have to buy the 1 foot length from the auto parts store for 4 inches and YES you must LUBE it up, fold and push and squeeze and fart and voila its on. It is a PIA and I have the bloody knuckles to prove it.
