Hi before I attack this little job I am seeking some advice on the best way to remove the hood springs on my 500SL.
Its just the springs I want off as I want to chrome plate them .

Do I need a special tool ?

No special tool- there is a sliding clip holding the angle part at the hood.Slide sideways and you can release everything. Careful you don't drop one like I did. Never found it.Also you need to prop up the hood!
