Which hood emblem? Are you talking about the hood star or the hood badge?

I dont really understand your question. The wind blew your hood shut?....just pop the hood and open it up again.

Sounds like you might of broke your hood release cable. The only way your going to open the hood is if your break the hood pull thats in between the grill. Thats right...I said break it. You will have to buy a new one which they are cheap.

To install a new hood star....place it in...and go on the underside of the hood and turn the hood star mechanism with some pliers. You will feel it set into place when you turn it enough.

Yeah, DW201 is correct about breaking the hood release handle. Fortunately, the can be had for about $10 shipped on eBay.

And the cables are about $30 at a dealership. Part number 201-880-02-59. Unfortunately, they're a pain in the butt to install.

you can pretty easily reach the small lever where the handle is hooked to, with a bendable wire. I broke mine a while back, it's not difficlut at all. Be careful don't break your grille screen.

good luck.
