Kudos to Govliquidation at Redstone Arsenal for including a nice video walkaround on their Freightliner FLU10344.

HMMH Video

Auction Result

I was outbid ($12k) at Ft. Lewis for one that was minus some forklift bits, but this one, in spite of being listed as "unserviceable and does not meet repair criteria", obviously runs.

I bookmarked it so I can still view it and see bid price well after the auction completes 5PM 11/03/2011.

Hope we (US people that is) get a bunch of money for it!

Thanks for the post. I had not seen the details of these before. Not like posting it really changes anything, anyone who wants one of these knows it is up and is bidding or planning to bid. It is not like there is a group of people sitting on the sidelines who suddenly think, "$hit, I am gonna drop 10K+ on this super specialized UNIMOG that I did not even know I needed it..."

Its not allowed on other larger forums and common sense says it shouldn't be allowed here. Sorry I disagree with the small majority..No harm no foul....Ey! I will continue to say it too.
If you want to work against the grain that's your free right. Its the internet, your opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. :argue:

Respectfully I think the policy should be looked at again....and a broader more indepth view taken and considered....dissent isn't working against the grain Ey! ITS merely contesting the validity and merit of a threads topic or content. It be neat if we could approach such topics in the future with less polarization of ones views and listen to what id really being expressed.

Why wouldn't it change? its called advertising.... yes most people know about the auction sites but maybe they don't allways look and or pay attention I look but dont spend hrs every week paying attention... and then all of the sudden someone reminds them and BAM a new bidder... not saying I have 10 large to start bidding but there are plenty of people who do that might see it as a resonable deal...

not that anyone is asking but my vote is to not post current auctions, If your the seller well I recon you have the right but I doubt any buyer would want any more advertising.

See post #2 from that same thread:

2. Arguing/discussing about yes or no the inclusion of GL auctions on this board can ONLY BE DONE IN THIS THREAD cause that is the topic of this thread. New GL auction threads will be about the auction items only, tech. questions that arise about them etc. The inclusion or not of GL Auctions on this board is simply a different topic and does not fit within the thread about a particular GL item.

The HMMH Unimog is even more specialized than the SEE and suffers from all of the same wonky issues, I fail to see how mentioning an auction is going to drive the price all the way to plaid.

The only negative thing I can see that it really does is the same thing that happens when guys say hey I have a truck for sale and everyone dog piles on him about things like paint, rust, mods etc. Suddenly everyone is going to the auction site and before you know it the whole forum is clucking like a bunch of angry hens.

Thanks ACAD_Cowboy, from my point of view as a prospective tool buyer, the more these items are discussed the stronger the very limited market which will IMHO inevitably get weaker. A dealer would have a more complete picture of the market but I am guessing based on the discussions here that it consists mainly of guys with toys rather than guys with tools. The HMMH being a rather obscure tool deserves some discussion from those who have some direct experience with it. I hope whoever buys it uses it for its intended purpose.

I hesitated to post the link to the video because of the extreme sensitivity of the minority but hoped to get more signal than noise. I already am aware of the GL issue and do keep it in mind when I post.

Anyone who wishes to educate me further on the GL topic please use a PM.
