Greetings:

I recently purchased a nice 1995 E320 wagon with 115,000 miles. I'm chasing down the few little issues that the car came with. (An aside: even once it's "done", I don't know if I'll like it quite as much as our lamented '93 300TE 4-Matic, which seemed a little more robust.)

Next on the list is the Hirschmann antenna, which isn't rising or retracting, although it does make noise when the radio is turned on or off. I'd like to obtain a rebuild kit or used replacement, but I can't find a single Google hit for its part numbers, which are:

124 820 7 2 75
4691 2 1 f 0102-1

Does anyone know if there's another variation that can be substituted for it? My car does not feature a manual switch to control the antenna.

Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for the reply; I guess my question is really about the degree to which antennas with different part numbers are interchangable. If, for example, I choose an antenna advertised as being from another W124 (body style unspecified) and it has a few digits in the part number that are different, am I likely to find that it doesn't fit my car?

I've updated my profile--thanks for the reminder.

Sounds like the motor works. Access is easy in the wagon. Take it out, open it up and see where the problem is. Ebay will have all the parts you need if you are on a budget or just go to the local Pick-n-Pull.
