Hi guys, my 03 ML350 has been giving me this somewhat high pitched beep that lasts for about 15-45 seconds after i start the car, I've never heard it before until a few weeks ago, seems to be coming from around the dash, and i believe it happens during especially cold weather (mornings in colorado)

thanks guys

Fix is simple. Cleaning and lubing may be enough.
Even better is to throw the poor quality control Bosch junk out and install the new brushless fan made by ebm-pabst.

Isn't that the one referenced in the link I posted?

"Drew Ling found out that there is a new E-box fan that uses ball bearings instead of brushes for contacts. Part number is 129-545-00-95."

Yes, that's the new one, made by ebm-papst. [:)]

I tried lubing the old squeaky one and while it did work a bit longer it eventually failed completely a few months later and was then replaced under warranty. Should have been replaced under warranty right away.

In particular since MB knows this is one of two suppliers (Bosch and Motorola) who have continued quality control problems since about 1999.

I had a 2003 ML 350 for a couple of months also and I heard that high pitched noise only about two separate times on start up. Its extremely high pitched and annoying. Ive had no problems with my 2004 ML 350 so far so good.
