Hello, I have a 2007 g500 and discovered a very annoying high-pitched noise over the speakers a couple years ago. We thought it might be the head unit and I put in an aftermarket head unit which actually is pretty nice because it has a lot of modern features but the high pitch noise came back recently. There's no rhyme or reason to it it just comes on over the speakers and the only way to stop it is to turn the vehicle off. Sometimes when I turn the vehicle back on the noise is gone and sometimes not. I think it might be some kind of a grounding problem or there's something which has gone bad but not too sure where to start.

I scanned this section of the website and I didn't see any discussion about this. Does this problem sound familiar to anybody and if yes can you give me some tips on where we think this problem might be coming from?

I had this happen on my 2007 SL550 a couple of times. I didn’t figure out definitively what caused it because it stopped and hasn’t come back.

However, one thing I did was get the software update to move from Teleaid to Mbrace and signed up for the the three month free trial. It’s not happened since.

The sos system calling out to cell repeaters that no longer exist may have been the issue.

I had this issue when my lights were switched to auto, and located the sound to the rear left door's tweeter speaker. So took the door panel off and disconnected it, as a bandaid solution. Yet to find the core issue and resolve it. Open to ideas...

am having the EXACT same thing on 2011 g55 on right back door tweeter.

When I got the vehicle last year it had a bad amp, which I replaced with used one. I drove it for a while before this issue arose. I know Benz around this era used amps were known to go bad due to location below seat. So it's either something with amp, wiring or speaker itself.

Any idea now what it was? This just started with mine tonight
