I had been putting this off since last season but decided to look into the High Mileage Award Mercedes offers. I figured if I had one attached to my grill, it would become the focal point....rather than all the parking lot rash, dings and dents.

In any event, I thought I was eligible at 150,000 miles. Turns out, it is 155,000 miles or 250,000Kms.

So I need another 3000 miles. It might take me two more years if the weather is shit again this summer.

Anyways heres the application forms.
Canada: Mercedes-Benz CA / Customer Care / High Mileage Awards
USA: Mercedes-Benz USA / Events and Community / High Mileage Awards

I'm just under 1,000 miles away on my 300SD. So far the odometer is still working.

FINALLY!!

I applied in September 2010 and waited over the 4-6 week period.

I re-applied January 2011 and waited until last week.

I then went to see MPG John and asked him to use his contacts to see wtf was going on.

Today....DING DONG!

The Fed-Ex man was ringing.

I'll let the pictures do the rest.

Not too shabby, eh? As you might expect, all my diesels have them. I hope I can squeeze 10K out of the 380SL before it goes tits up- ah it'll make it.

you know you're going to have to spruce up that grille before mounting the badge...

Eternal Question

Now comes the eternal question - what is the proper location for the badge on the grille?

On your mantle in the house. I just don't think they look right on our grilles. On the sedans, yes. On 107s, no.
