Looking to buy GLK 350 soon after trying the C 300 I decided to go with the GLK. anyways I had many reasons to choose the GLK over the C class, but this is not the topic here.

I am geting a base GLK 350 4 MATIC, and it doesn't come with Xenon headlights, my last 2 cars had Xenon headlights and to me its hard to drive without them. So i am thinking of buying a HID Conversion Kit that is basically plug and play, has anyone tried that in the GLK or any modern Mercedes, did that trigger any warnings on the dash board??

this is the link for the kit that i am looking at
DOT Approved HID Xenon Conversion Kit

your inputs are appreciated

I'm planning to go this route too as the only GLKs available in my area with the HIDs were fully loaded - i.e. a whole lot of options that I just didn't want. I'll be very curious to hear how an install turns out. I know a few people that did it on the SLKs and it was pretty straight forward. The GLK is still a bit of an unknown.

I've done this on a 2006 X5 3.0 and the only challenge I'd encountered was where to affix the ballasts. I ended up attaching the ballasts to the metal bracket on which the headlight assembly slides. You have to investigate the area around the headlights and make sure there's enough space for ballasts there. Also, once you choose the kit talk to the manufacturer to be sure the kit would work for the car.

Why don't you just order the GLK with the HIDs from the factory?...the light package is not much in cost.

I have never known a MB dealer to ADD any Option after the sale. Besides the little things (Mud Flaps, Sirius Radio, iPod Kit, Winter Mats, Bluetooth phone kit, etc...)
I tried for the longest time to get TPMS added to my 2005 E320, it was "NO" at the dealer, "NO" from corporate HQ and "NO" from Germany! And they won't do it for those silly Option prices they quote! BTW my 1996 Ford Explorer Came with the Cargo cover and it was half the price!
