I installed HID kit on my C280 and i messed up the beam quite bad initially. Spend few more hours and i was able to align it agian properly. The kits that were sold few years ago were older models, with round fixtures near the base of the bulb., those were very hard to install and align. New ones which can be found on www.hids4less.com and www.xenondepot.com are 100% German made ballasts and bulds with engineered bases that clip easliy on the clip locks.
I personally dont like the 8000K bulbs as its too much light distortion. The max to go is 6000K.
