Anyone know where I can find HID installation instructions? I just bought an HID Kit which came with 2 power units and 2 HID bulbs but the instructions are in Japanese!

There can be at least 2 different types of setups.
1) Bulb wires plug into ballast(power unit) then ballast has 2 wire leads on it(+/-) If it's a direct replacement kit for H7 bulbs, there should be a jack on the end of that wire that plugs into your factory harness. If it is just bare wires, you have to buy a jack to connect them without cutting the factory jacks off.

Type 2 setup:
Same as above, except there is a relay on the wire harness. And it has another wire coming out of it. This wire has to go to the (+) terminal on your battery. So in this setup you connect the wires(or jack) to your factory harness. Just like you would be connecting to a bulb and the 3rd wire goes to the battery (+ might be red). There will also be a ground wire.(might be black)

If you can post up some more info on this kit, pictures of all the connections would help.

Here is a link to the instructions for my HID kit.

Thank you so much, I might post some pics - but it seems to be the 2nd type... By getting power from the battery is it going to give a bulb out indicator on the cluster?

Sad to say, but yes. That is what i have on mine. I read online that it can be fixed with a load resistor built out of a few parts.

I just masked over the bulb on my dash, can't see the bulb, can't see the masking, however you do have to pay attention to your lights to make sure they are all working.

If you can, post some pics, let us know how it turned out.

Oh and another thing, don't forget to relevel your headlights after you put in the HIDs. Else you might be getting bad beam patterns or blind other drivers. [8D]

I'm going to have to take better pictures with a bettter camera... [:D] It seems a little orange after it starts up and bulb-out indicator shows =\ I think the orange is coming from the high beams to compensate for thinking the bulb is out.

more pictures of yellow tint... Is it just my eyes or is it just that it needs to burn in?

Your bulb out warning light is on because Xenons draw less voltage than normal halogen bulbs so it has detected the voltage drop and the car thinks a bulb is blown.

I cant see an orange tint however there is no way it would be your high beams trying to compensate. It would be the Xenons. They will not get better (there is no such thing as burning them in) as they are a gas filled type globe.

If you purchased xenons around the 6000 or slightly more or less Kelvins, they will be this colour indefinately

Here are some pictures of the 12000k Purple HID Xenon Kit I just installed myself. That's frost on my hood, not a bad paint job.[:D][br]<IMG SRC="http://www.geocities.com/thangcun/slk230/pict0002.jpg" WIDTH="550" HEIGHT="400"][br][br]

That looks awesome vietpersuasion!! Would cops pull you over if they saw that color? That's crazy. I have 4100k HIDs "real white" Is it worth it to just put a little bit of color in there? (like 6000k)

It's not that bad, during the day time, you can see the purple tint, but at night, it's not as purple as it looks on camera, cops would notice that I have HID. But they probably think it's a new car with new lighting technology so they won't bother with it. Put those lights on a 95 accord or something and you'll definitely get pulled over.

I chose 12000k to get the purple tint, if you want the best results, I suggest going with 6000k or 8000k, 6000k puts out maximum firepower and 8000k adds more blue tint, which would ofcourse standout from the rest.

If I am going down the road, you would definitely recognize my car from the rest at night because I am one of the few with purple tint lights. Well worth the money and will add more value to your car from a perspective point.
