I just bought a 2001 s430, and it seems that the HID headlights are really weak. They have a bluish tint to them, and dont seem to light up the road really well.

Is it a function of the bulbs getting old, or going bad.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

it could just be really really dirty head lights

also are you sure you have hid's some manifacutrs of head light bulbs are getting very very close...

if i remember correctly dads 2000 S500 had a purplish tent to them.

anyway try a wax remover on the out side of the head light and see if that help. might just be 4 years of road build up.
