Hi guys,

quick question about HID's

I know that the ballst defines the output power and that the bulb defines the specific color temperature.
Is there a difference (besides the color temperature) between bulbs that are attached to a 35W and 55W ballast?

or in other words is there a thing such as 35W and a 55W bulb or are there just different color temps?

I have a 35W 8000K bulb and was wondering if can hook it up to a 55W ballast.

Thx - phil

Yup, you can. You will lose color and lifespan. So don't expect it to last a long time or be the same color if the other ballast is different.
