[:)]Hello there fellow Mercedes owners. Just thought i might register here and be a part of this place now that i have got my baby running again (after 5 years with a blown trans). The car is a 1970 250C (the vin is 114.023.12.000175 which is the 175th 250C EVER made!!! I acquired the car from my father (he bought a 1973 450SL) and since have modified the headlights and seats among other things. The car was restored in 1997. My dad painted it the custom blue you see. He really massaged out the body lines. From what i understand i have the M130V motor and 4 spd auto. It just hit 129k today. The car has a crazy first gear (4.03:1!!!) and its really easy to burn the tires through second. I love the craftsmanship of these cars. They are like grandfather clocks (if that is the right analogy). Anyways comments or questions are welcome. It is a pleasure to be among fellow benz owners.

Very nice - but I have to side with DR on the seats [;)]
Welcome to Benzworld!
yea yea i know. Not the best color combo IMHO. But you should have seen the other seats, there were nothing left of them. On that note, does anyone know where to get factory MB seat skins for the 250C specifically??? The 250 sedan ones wont do. The old seats were dark royal blue I think you call it. What i mean by massaging the bodylines is the car was in really bad shape body-wise. My father actually block sanded and smoothed every single wrinkle from the body. He is a little obsessive-compulsive. But hey i guess it helps when you are restoring a Mercedes!!!

in a few days ill post some more pics. The valves were WAY out of adjustment, so i got that straightened out and now she runs fantastic. I hooked it up to an ignition scope and all is well. Thanks for the comments/concerns. Please comment on the car. I want as much feedback as possible [:p]
