Just wanted to say hello to everybody and introduce myself. First off, I am here because I want to learn about my parents cars and I love forums of any kind as a wealth of info. They have a 2004 SL500 and an 2005 E320 CDI, and I am a big fan of both of them. Since they wont go on forums to learn about their cars themselves, I took it upon myself as they look to me with questions about their cars. Well thats my story and I hope to learn a lot from this site. Let the exploring begin!

Now as S500 said, what colors are they? And have you experienced the SBC gremlin yet? The SBC scared the shit out of us.[
I am not sure of the color name, but they are both silver. Whats the SBC gremlin? I will eventually get some pictures up, but like I said, they are my parents and I don't live with them so I am not around the cars every day. I may be taking the SL on a road trip in a few weeks though, and if I do, I will take some pics along the coast .

About the SBC. It's on the E for sure, but I'm not so sure about the SL. SBC if you don't already know is Sensotronic Brake Control. It's got a lot of features and stuff like periodically 'hugging' the rotors to keep them dry for a quicker stop. If you lift your foot off the pedal quickly, the brakes will get ready for a quick stop. And the list just goes on and on.
Well, there was a recall for the SBC, because it has failed sometimes, and almost caused accidents in some cases. I think it's all Brake-by-wire.
That's one of the reasons that stopped us from getting an E earlier last year.[
]Not to scare you or anything, but if you haven't already brought it to the dealer for it, I would ASAP.

Brilliant Silver would be my guess. Yes I race a 350Z and drive a G35 as my daily driver
