Too broad and not substantive specifics....
A lot of people beat up on the Japanese (or even American) cars versus Mercedes. I own both a Toyota and a Mercedes S-Class. I think they both serve different purposes and a comparison is unfair. However, I'm curious to hear some specifics comparing the Lexus with a Mercedes S-Class, especially from someone that has either owned both, or has sufficient experience to comment. What is it that you find MB to be much superior to Lexus. I think reliability is very important in a car, so is low cost maintenance. And, IMO, MB doesn't come far enough as far as maintenance is concerned. Let's hear some specifics now...As far as prestige and European styling is concerned, I think the Mercedes S-Class (W140) is in a different league from the Lexus. Also, MB has always been first to introduce the "cooler" things and safety features....If I had the choice (and extra money to spare), I would always choose the MB over the Lexus. But again, it's my opinion.....The Lexus, I think is a great car, good looking (slightly boring), great build quality and terrific value for money - definitely lacks the presence of the W140 though.
