Here's a list of EZL modules with pics and part numbers

Since everyone seems to be talking about EZL modules lately it would be handy to have a list of them all in the same place. I'm also researching the topic and the units I've seen for sale seem to list compatibility with all V8s - 420,500 and 560, but I would hope each particular engine type would have it's own map and this wouldn't be the case.

Here's what the EPC lists for the V8, in order of oldest to newest:

1st version (EZ 0037)
MB #003 545 91 32
Siemens #5WK6 140
Technology Electronic device

Application: 420, 500 (possibly 560)

2nd Version (EZ 0015)
MB #003 545 92 32
Bosch #0 227 400 600
Auto part

Application: 500, 560

3rd Version (EZ 0037)
MB #010 545 66 32
Bosch #0 227 400 693
Auto part

Application:

4th Version (EZ 0015?)
MB #007 545 07 32
Bosch #0 227 400 706
Auto part

Note: 2x8 pin connectors & $$$
Application: 560
If anyone has any more please post them up!

Great post and added to DIY thread for reference.

My 420 has the 8 pin version also.
MB # 007 545 22 32

Bosch # 0 227 400 710

From a 1989 420SE UK model. Sorry no pics though, sold it.
that is the same as my one...
This is the EZL in The Rose. Euro Gen II 500ECE SEC (per build sheet on EPC for the Doubting Thomas's on another forum).

1st version (EZ 0016)
MB #003 545 91 32
Siemens #5WK6 140
Application: 420, 560 (probably 500)

According to the EPC (world wide):
This Part No. and subsequent variations(updated). fit the Gen II 420 and 500 series (Euro) and the US Gen II 420 series. I found two of these in the Ecology Yard in Lancaster CA. in Gen II 420 SEL's when looking to sort out the no run situation of The Rose. Now I have 3 of them. Two for the Get Me Home Box.

I can find no listing for this part no. for a 560 at all.

If it was in a 560, I don't think that it was the original EZL in the car, but it proves out that it'll work in the car.

Thanks, I'll update the post. I whish we could set up a 126 wiki as well as the forum where all the info could be kept and added to.

Yup, that's what I had in my Japanese Euro spec 91 SEC. It now lives transplanted in the SEL.

Are there any others that will work as a substitute? I found out in the past this one is particularly tricky to find.
Yours might have been the original P/N and got superseded to another P/N.

It appears that maybe the first 3 numbers and the first set of 2 numbers change with updated variations, as in originals being replaced. I think as long as the numbers 545 and 32 are in the part number the first 3 and the first set of two do not make a difference. They seem to be the update numerals. JMO

You can type in the part no.s in search, part no. in EPC and find what models used which EZL and which swap between models. That is how I found out the US Gen II 420's used the same EZL as my Euro Gen II 500.
Euro 560 10:1 ezl's:

MB_Mike's 1987 560 euro ECE 822-code:

004 545 00 32

The ezl my '90 560 euro RuF/KAT (10:1) equipped with.

0 227 400 701
006 545 5432

David Barnes' (DBMB) 1986 560SEC 822-code ECE 10:1 euro:

Looks like a replacement unit - ending in either 5532 or 5632.

harlz, 4th ezl version in post #1 seems to show EZL 0037, not 15.

Also according to hents99, the 4-pin EZL 004 545 34 32 came from an ECE engine.

Great topic!!
Those numbers are for 126045 models 560 SEC Euro, and Japanese, Just checked it on epc. I think my theory of the first 3 and first2 numbers seems to hold with the the first 3 being model specific.

004 545 00 32
004 545 34 32
006 545 54 32

Actually i think the first 3 numbers has to do with models used on and newer variations. now, because the 420 and 500's were up to 003 it looks like 560's start with 004 and go up.
These 3 P/N's are 560 SEC at least have not checked for pother usage, but suspect Euro/ Japanese.

Good thread for sure makes us dig and do research. I love it.
Great thread and one that will come in handy one day I'm sure!
lahiru,
That one from the EPC is for 126 Euro cars models 046,034,035 and Japan 035.

Boy EPC has been touchy tonight as is the internet, at least here in So CA.
My 87 560 Euro spec 822 10:1:

0 227 400 606 D117 063
EZ 0018
004 545 00 32
Here are the EZL's from an 87,88 & 90 560's, all north american.
The one on the left is from the 87, the 88 is identical in every respect to the 87 and the one on the right is from a 90. Same numbers, a little different styling and it had the plastic between the ezl & the car.

My 2 cents:
1982 Euro 500SEL hot rod has aluminum EZL: 0227 100 001. BOSCH
1983 Euro 500SL 48K miles original has aluminum EZL: 0227 100 047. BOSCH
1986 Euro 420SE has black EZL: (B)0227 400 600; (MB)003 545 9232.
I have following EZL's laying around:

003 545 9132 - 8 pin + 1 pin EZ 0016 D 116 252 5WK6 140 SIEMENS 8 ZYL
004 545 5532 - 8 pin + 1 pin EZ 0021 D 117 059 5WK6 144 SIEMENS 8 ZYL
003 545 9132 - 8 pin + 1 pin EZ 0016 D 116 259 5WK6 140 SIEMENS 8 ZYL
A really great thread.

Below is the EZL in The Rose. A 4 pin EZl

The two EZL's I gleaned off the Gen II 420's These are the only cars in the US that share the same EZL's with the Euro Gen II 500's according to the EPC.
