Hi,
Can somebody help me with this VIN: 10704310014012?

It is supposed to be a 1974 350 SL. However according to what I understand this should be the 14.012th 350 SL and I don't think there were so many built by 1974.

The engine number is 11698410000776.

Is the engine the original one?

Thanks.
Rodolfo.

The build sequence number starts with the beginning of production (1972) and does not start at 0 every year. So you have the 14,012th 350SL (107.043) ever built.

Thanks !
I finally got the data card. It confirms the engine number but does not indicate the year.
How can I find out from which year is my 350 SL?
Rodolfo.

I have the same problem on my card there's a little 72 on the bottom and the vin is so low. But all the paper work says 73. Is there a way to verify the year.
