The last two days when I start my SL500 the first time in the morning I get an error message on the dash. It says "Convenience functions temporarily unavailable". Anyone know why this is happening and what it affects?

The battery in the trunk is going bad. Once you get the message it is only a matter of time before it dies on you.

it happened to me twice recently , took it to my main dealer,battery
ok did some voltage drop tests over 2 days star computer found faulty rear sam unit replaced it under warranty .could be a number of things causing the battery to drain.as for [convenience functions temporarily unavailable]the car shuts down unnecessary electrical items like the steering wheel not lowering until the charge has built up in the battery this enables you to start the car. suggest you book it in to your dealer.
