Hi all, I am looking to get a smaller ariel for the r171, just a question. I dont get my car until the 1st of march, they offer a silver or black one, but what is the colour of the but the ariel attaches to ? is that black ?

You need to be careful here. There are lots of posts regarding this as many people have experienced many problems when fitting smaller arials in particular:
the need to be very close to the car to lock/unlock
awful radio reception
...and many other things - and this is for bona fide MB parts!!
Ianx had posted a while back to say that he had tried an SL arial on his SLK with very little success.
