I'd start with the stalk switch. Mine did a similar thing a while ago where I switched on the wiper but it wouldn't switch off. I had to fiddle with the switch to stop the wiper. When I started the car the next time it was fine and I haven't had the problem since. But I am expecting it to re-appear at some stage.

So, I think it's the switch....

Anyone have any other ideas on what it is?

mine is playing up too, but mine works when it feels like it and then doesnt!
