I am tring to get my car running properly to take it to the bay area GTG on the 16th and need new tires. there is a local guy selling some Monos for cheep but they are 40et and I dont know if they will clear the caliper.

This is the info he posted HWA 202 401 0102 and 8.5J x 17 H2.

Any help would be great as I have to decide to buy new tired for the stock 15s or buy these rims for about the same price.

Thanks

Mount one on & see...before you buy.

I tried to swap some rims off my 85 parts car and the break hit the inside of the rim and dug a line in it.even thougg i only moved it about 3 inches. oops:)

I've seen people do the staggered 17x7.5 front and 17x8.5 AMG mono setup before. The offset should be all right though. My 16x7 Borbet wheels have an offeset of 38 mm and they fit perfectly.
The reason why the rims from your parts car didn't work is because the older models had slightly different brakes.
