Hey guys... Well... All of a sudden today i pop my hood and i can hear a high pitched whistling noise from the engine. I thought it was a pulley but even after i sprayed it with wd40 it still was there. When i turn the car off, it makes a noise like when you first open a bottle of soda. LIke all the air is being let out. What the heck is this??? Thanks

When my car had the very LOUD squealing that changed with the engine speed it turned out to be the belt tensioner wheel coming apart in a similar way that the Harmonic Balancer will disintegrate. If you look at the wheels attached to the belt you will see rubber or other garbage sticking out of the pulley.

The belt tension pulley when facing the car from the front on the top right area of the engine near the oil filter side and is about 6 inches in diameter.

It was very very loud in my case and won't be affected by WD 40 since it's the ball bearing going. Worth a look in any case if this sounds like your problem.
