Hey everybody!

I'm a little new to this forum stuff, so bear with me. I just recently got an '85 190E, it's my first car and I love it!! Unfortunately, the previous owner did not give the TLC it deserved. Anyway, I would love to restore it and then start enhancing the performance, but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions you guys have would awesome, especially in terms of increasing the perf.

Thank you for the great advice! But what I might ultimately do is swap the engine, of course, that'll be a while! I've seen some talk of putting an Astro van engine into the 190, but I don't think I want to go that route. What I'd really love to do is swap for an AMG engine. Not quite sure which one is best, or how much that'll be, but that's what I want to do.
