Hi guys, I decided to take the 2002 ML320 after the general check up was done today. I will make the payment by monday.

Now, I just realized something...
All the General check up report was stapled together, so I didn't really check carefully each pages, i do now.. and i notice this :

The vehicle VIN is WDC1631542A225242 but in the Diagnosis Assistance System report, it prints the VIN as 4JGAB54E61A225242. The production number is the same, 225242, but when I entered it through benzworld.org vin decoder, the WDC.. turns out to be 2002 ML320 made in Germany while the 4JGA.. turns out to be 2001 ML320 made in USA. Which is kinda weird.. the vehicle registration and everything says that the year of manufacture is 2002. Could this be another vehicle report? (Altho I never found an ML sold here with US VIN number.. so far)

Also, I have done a general check up on 2000 ML320, with VIN WDC1631542A105679 when I run it in the decoder, it says as 2002 ML320.. weird huh... i'm sure its the 2000 model as it doesnt even has touchshift transmission.

Anyway, on completely different topic, how many keys does this car come with? 2 keys with 1 valet or?

Weird.. that WDC is not a vin number.. The 4jGA is a valid vin number though..

Hmmm maybe i am mistaken... the WIS does not reconzie it.. Maybe i put it in wrong.

Last time i put something like that in the WIS it automatically converted it to that other number the 4J---

Do you know what is your VIN number on the Diagnosis computer? is it still appears as WDC.. or it converts to 4J..
How do you know that yours is made in USA?

you meant you put WDC-format VIN to WIS and it converts it to 4J-format? Then maybe thats the case with my general check up report..

I thought MLs with WDC VIN is Graz-built and 4JG VIN is US-built.. but if Marcelc's ML270CDI is made in USA, then I guess thats not always the case - with WDC VIN is Graz-built.

I was just wondering.. is it possible that ML for all European and Asian market has the 4JG VIN converted into WDC VIN.. before its being sold to the customer.. and this car i wanted to buy is built sometime in Dec 2001, then sent to Germany, have the VIN converted to WDC somewhere in January 2002 and sold as 2002 model.. well i dont know, just maybe.. anyone?

I believe my ML270 was built in the US because I was told by the salesman that it was made in USA and it had a USA Exide battery (which only lasted 3 years and 10 months) and other parts which are sourced from the USA; it was built just after the US factory restarted after the factory was refitted.
I don't (yet) have WIS to check the answer to your other question.

Your M class has a delivery date 26/09/00,was build in USA(like all the M class).Exterior paint:189,interior:264,and you have only two keys(at least for Europe they had two keys).

The VIN WDC1631542A105679 has delivery date 02/08/99 and it's a silver one(code 744)[]

If the first VIN took delivery in 09/00.. I wonder why it sold here as 2002 model [?] 2 years gap between the delivery and until the vehicle was sold.. (the registration of the car is 05/02)
The silver one sold here as 2000 model, which is still ok since its only 4 months from delivery date, lets say it was from all the transport time, etc..

So the car took delivery by the end of 2000, and it has option "801 Change of year of model, last figure shows new model year" so it became 2001 model.. sent to Indonesia and arrived sometime early 2001.. and the car not sold till 2002.. man, that is long.
The engine number and the options matched.. so thats good.

I checked the other 2002 model, it took delivery on 06/01, and sold on 02/02 as 2002 model here

I think Mercedes Indonesia like to lie about car's model year (they dont want to give the customer rebate saying its last year model).
