I have a 1978 450 slc that is having trouble starting.
I removed the csv and watched it while my wife tried to start the car and nothing came out. Voltage to the connector is only about 2.5 Vdc. Is this the correct voltage? If so, then I do need a new csv. If not, then the problem is in the wiring, right?

Thanks,

Steven

This may sound dumb but note I’m in Florida – the csv only works when it’s cold so assuming it’s cold where you are if no fuel spray came out I would suspect the valve is not getting juice or is bad. I will also assume that the engine’s in otherwise good condition with no leaking injectors or poor fuel pressure or a bad coolant temp sensor, or a bad OVP…

You get the idea. Do the wires to the valve look worn or exposed? Sometimes the wires just need to be taped up.
