When I start the car, the command unit just keeps on restarting and drains the battery in 2 days. How can I fix this please.

It's ml320 2007 v6 diesel. Its thirsty but don't mind on that, just the electrics is annoying me, who puts a battery, underneath electric car seats?!?!

lol. Did you see any room under the hood for a battery? Do you have a Mercedes specific code scanner? What’s the history on this problem. Did it just start?
Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen. Most likely few others. It is perfect place for AGM battery.

So how do you move the electric seat to get to the dead battery? Jumper cables to the connector under the hood?
Jumper cables or capable power supply. Once seat is in right position disconnect external power.

I should have known that it wouldn't be as simple as a mechanical disconnect of the seat track latch to move it manually. Thanks for confirming!
Command Unit on 2012 S550 was shutting off every 15-20 Seconds
Called the shop and talked to Alex and he told me what the problem was without any hesitation or bull****. Local shops came up with all kind of possibilities and bs. Either you have seen the problem and know what is wrong or you don't. He is a good guy and will save you a lot of money. Mailed the unit on Saturday by Fed Ex and he received it Tuesday. Called me Wednesday morning and said he had fixed unit and would run it for the day to make sure problem was resolved. He is mailing the unit back tomorrow Thursday and I should receive it early next week. Appears to be best $350 I have ever spent. Will report more once I receive unit and put it in. Stealership quoted me over $7k for new command unit. I have heard that the command unit is a common problem area as there are a number of components involved with it. First issue I have had since I had car, but I will keep his number close for the future.

Doesn't take long to figure out if someone knows what they are talking about. Gave me tracking number and it will be here Tuesday. If it doesn't work can always call Visa. Said the system info had been removed from radio and he placed updated info on radio. Dealer had car and was unable to fix despite telling me they had updated info on radio. Guy is reputable.
For what it's worth, I've copied/saved your post to a Word.doc on my hard drive. Once you let us know if these guys were legit, I'll then keep it in case of future issue on my Command. We await your conclusions!
What happened? I have a similar issue with my 07 ML320 command unit. On a very cold day the unit will start up. But when its warm the unit only displays the mercedes logo and nothing else. Any guidance from anybody? Its so odd.

Yes, what exactly are they repairing inside the unit? Mostly capacitors I am guessing?
