I am in desperate need of assistance!
Yesterday I was checking my parking release handle, while feeling around under the dash a part (see attached) w/ a green and yellow wire attached got disconnected. Immediately my brake light warming illuminated on the instrument cluster. There is a mechanism the part that can be pushed in. When doing so, the brake warning light goes off. I tried looking up the part and it looks like its a brake light switch. The problem is that I don’t know where it goes. Most of the posts says near the brake pedal but there is no where to install it there. I am hoping someone can tell me exactly what the part is and where do I reconnect it? Please help I am very baffled especially since I was only feeling around near the park release when this occurred.

It fits in behind the parking brake pedal. The plunger when depressed indicates to the system
that the parking brake pedal is in its disengaged state. My wife has her ML at work and my
daughter has hers out of town or I would take a picture.

Thank you so much Noodles, You're a lifesaver! I will attempt to locate and reinstall it. Will post an update afterwards. Thanks again
