I need to replace a car part but i cant find what it's called. I've attached a picture with the piece i need squared in red. Thanks

Without knowing what model car we are looking at, the general part you are looking for is included in this assembly Your Parts Search Returned 5 Part(s) look at part # 1234307429

What you are looking at there is the brake booster vacuum line. The thing you have squared of is the vacuum metering device. It meters the vacuum from the pump to the brake booster unit. Again, I'm not sure if that part was made to be serviceable. For less than 40 bucks, you can get a whole new line shipped from autohausaz and be sure the whole line is leak free.

But to start, why are wanting to replace that item?

looks like the part # ending in 429

Those nipples often break when old and brittle...that's probably what happened here.

Thanks for the replys.

I need it replaced because where the vacuum line connects is broken. So the vacuum line only stays in about half of the time. In the picture it looks good, but in actuality, its not.
