I have a 280ce with M110 engine and I'm having problems with idle and acceleration.

I have done all the typical.....oil change ...thermo sensor replaced....etc.

I have attached a picture of the layout of the sensors on the block.
The sensor marked as #8 in the picture has these symptoms -
If I ground that sensor [ called 100 degrees temp switch/sensor] my engine runs fine.

However...this sensor is for auxillary fan I've been told....and cannot figure out what this sensor has to do with the idling problem.

It My car runs ok after it has been driven for a few miles.

Hope someone out there can enlighten me......
Cheers

My idling problem is - When cold it is difficult to start....then eventually starts but misses....then when warm runs smooth but lacking power and acceleration.

...could be if the sensor is bad that the car is getting an approaching overheating signal. i dont know zip about m100's, our member here 'grovert' would probably be a go to source for you, hes a mb encyclopedia/technician par excellence'.
if you have a junk yard try a different sensor from a car there perhaps?

how about fuel pump/fuel pressure relay?
