help me! i have done all i can

i have spent a total of 1200 in mechanics to try to find out the problem, even a mercedes mech can't figure it out! my 1988 260e keeps radomly dieing in drive mode and idle. every once in a while, then it takes a few min to seconds to restart, what am i and the mechanics missing anyone else had this prob:crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2:

Seems a bit steep for plugs, wires, etc! Any updates on your issue?
