i have spent a total of 1200 in mechanics to try to find out the problem, even a mercedes mech can't figure it out! my 1988 260e keeps radomly dieing in drive mode and idle. every once in a while, then it takes a few min to seconds to restart, what am i and the mechanics missing anyone else had this prob:crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2:

let us know what parts the mech has replaced. i have some ideas, but tell us what he "did". my wifes was doing the same thing actually today. it turned out to be the coil. but pleae respond so we all can have a better idea.

Fuel pump relay...that's the FIRST thing you replace when a car dies randomly.
Behind the battery, there are two black relays about 3 X 2 X 1.. One will say Klima, you want the other one.
DO NOT buy the aftermarker KAE/Kahler crap from china. Get the Genuine Mercedes part.
