Could very well be a grey market car and have a vin plate on the b-pillar. Although it won't look like the factory vin plate seen on US cars.Where is the VIN number plate? on the B pillar or under the hood?
Stick your hand behind/inside the front and/or rear bumpers. If they have big metal bars inside them for reinforcement, they are bumpers modified for DOT grey market cars. But I guess that doesn't tell you if the bumper is orignal to the car... But the rear bumper mount where the shocks are would I think... Also it seems like most of the grey market cars I see at the junkyard have DOT sticker inside the driver's door jamb stating when it was US-certified...but euro bumpers,
