My dash light is out, when I turn on the driving lights... has it blown or something?

I thought it might be the fuse, but could not find the right one? Any ideas?

have you turned down the brightness by accident?

I didnt realise it myself until it happened to me. You can adjust the brightness of the dash illumination by twisting the odometer reset button. Somehow mine managed to get turned right down and this resulted in no dash illumination.

Its in the handbook that no-one reads!

OK, went to see a Merc mechanic and he thinks it could be the rheostat which is faulty... obvious solution is to replace the fault rheostat (if that is faulty), or run a bypass cable on the rheostat (cheap alternative).
