Hello everyone. I finally actually registered after about a year of lurking.

My wife and I purchased a CPO 2007 C230 with a little over 28,000 miles on the clock on July 1, 2011. It had been my dream to own a Mercedes or BMW since high school, which is quite a number of years in the past. After looking at the prices of new and used cars we realized that for about the same price we could buy a 3 or 4 year old CPO C230 with low miles or a 2 to 3 year old Ford Fusion (or similar). The answer seemed to be a no brainer.

The car is probably the quietest and best riding car we have ever owned (compared to: 1979 Mustang, 1988 Mustang 4 cy., 1992 Mustang LX 5.0, 1998 Four Contour (what a piece of junk) and a 2004 Nissan Maxima). The only issue we have had is a head light that was holding condensation. after several phone calls and finally a trip to the deaslership they finally agreed to a good will replacement of the assembly.

Last month, with just under 12,000 miles on the odometer since purchase we had the dealership change the oil (used a $50 online coupon). I am normally a DIY type but with the $50 coupon it made the cost of having them do it about the same as doing it myself.

I have one question for anyone who can answer. I would like The VIN is WDBRF52H57E026367. thasnks in advance for the help.

Woops, sorry about that. Had to step away from my computer in the process of typing the post and didn't finish the question. The question is whether my engine is suspect for the balance shaft issue.

Thanks for the quick response Eric. Do you have any idea what percentage of the engines are actually having a problem? I can't believe that the percentage of problem vehicles can be that high.
