Hello! I've just joined and this is my first post. I'm looking forward to tapping into all of the expertise and goodwill I've seen on the site.

My first plea for help!
My 2012 C Class makes a loud clicking noise as soon as it warms up. It sounds like it's coming from the rear area of the exhaust. Mercedes say it's just the exhaust cooling and I've also been told it could be the cat cooling down.

However I get it all the time and can hear it (with the window down a bit) when stopped in traffic or crawling along. Also, I've never heard it with any other car!
So, do I have anything to worry about? Are Mercedes right and if so, why don't I hear it on other cars?

I have not had this complaint yet on a C-class but I have had it on a ML. the fix was to replace the exhaust hangers. it may be different on your C-class tho.

Thanks for your reply Vortecpwr. Did you do a like for like replacement or did you change the type of exhaust hangers?

the OEM hangers were black and the new ones were green.
