Drove up the mountains where it was pretty cold Thanksgiving and the heater decided to not work. So yesterday hit the forums and after reading a few responses to similar problems opened the hood to diagnose. Found the circulating pump working and the mono-valve solenoid coil had continuity and voltage to it. Pulled the valve apart and saw the diaphragm was torn. No parts places nearby that would be open for the holiday. I thought for a minute or two and then looked at the nitrile rubber gloves I was wearing. Hmmm? the diaphragm is about the size of my thumb! So I removed the old torn rubber and sliced the tip off the glove's thumb, cut a hole in it and located it on the solenoid. Installed it and voila! heat...Don't know how long it will hold but what the hell it's a cheap fix :)
