The red vac pod on the firewall seems to have a leak. It's this part: A1078002475 and it's a bit pricey.

Genuine Mercedes 1078002475 A/C Vacuum Actuator; For Heater Valve at Firewall - Mercedes | 248102005001C W01331616078

I am 90% sure that I have read on an old thread here that I can purchase the cheaper plastic vac pod and faucet combo and it's a drop in replacement. This one:

Genuine Mercedes 1078300584 AC & Heater Control Valve; Heater Faucet with Vacuum Element; Black Plastic - Mercedes | 1168300684 W01331626974

I can't seem to find that thread but is my memory right?

If so which of the two hoses from the Pierburg valves is connected to this part?

Thanks! Andy

Just checked mine from when I converted years ago. Assuming your vac lines are still properly color coded, red goes to the new pod, green gets plugged.

Yes that’s a roofing nail-apparently what I had handy at the time and forgot about it. But it’s worked for years
