IF you still have all the parts..... usually located at the bottom of the backseat panel in the cavity and the one big piece still in place....
Test re-fit the broken pieces to make sure they fit and match

Yes, 124 970 02 26 will fit the later years but will it work on a 1990?

My gear mechanism is fine but it’s the piece that accepts the headrest metal rod that’s broken. The headrest will go up when the mechanism pushes, but it can’t pull the headrest down because the attachment point is broken. One is missing in the picture and the other is broken but I kind of attached it… doesn’t hold though.

So I played around on Pelican’s site, but why is there no figment for a 1990 300E Base 3.0L? Am I missing something obvious? It would be great if this part fit but my rail has the teeth that go all the way down the rail rather than just half way.

You are correct.
My bad, I should have reviewed closer than just the 1990 model general.
The rail stocks are different wrt the "ladders" on the rail. What about the overall lengths?
Might need to 'improvise' to swap pieces to work?
I will dig into my broken spare parts boxes to see if I have a 90s rail to compare to the latter model rails.

I would appreciate it if you can check. It might just be a website issue because I wouldn’t expect my seats to be different than all the other models that they posted. I might have to risk it and buy one to see if it works but wanted to ask if someone had any experience first.

I called MB today and only the 1249700126 are showing as a fit according to my vin. NLA of course and the 0226 are special order. If anyone has a side by side view of those two, I would love to see it.

No rails of the early years - 0126 in my boxes of broken parts.

Thanks for checking and taking pictures. Here is mine, probably 1249700126, but there is no part number on it. I called MB classics and they couldn’t help.

I placed an order for a pair on eBay. They are listed as 0226 but they look more like 0126. We shall see…

The used parts from eBay came in and they looked just like what I had. Popped them in, got the seats back in and all seems to be well. Cleaned the carpet when the seats were out. What a difference.
