I took a rock to my headlight and need a new one. Anybody have a part number or good source? I've already sent D.Stern a note - trying to avoid Stealership pricing.

2002 G500

Thanks,

Dave

Sorry to hear about the rock.

Part number is 463 820 00 59. MB price is 130 euros!

I have one on my desk because I am fiddling with it to see if I can get it to work in my 1999 G 500. I like the daytime driving light function. If it does not look like a doable project - I'll have one, slightly used headlamp for sale. I should know next week or so.

Keep me posted, I'm not sure how long I want to risk it though. It is still intact - so my bulb is okay. Another good jolt I'll lose some glass and the bulb will be open to the elements and will be toast also. Scotch tape might buy me some more time.

Thanks for the part number, I'll check the Stealership and Caliber. My source there left for the new Classic Center - hopefully I still get good pricing.

Any thoughts on this stuff?

Would it have saved my headlight?

Now I need another part number!

I got my new headlight (complete w/ both bulbs!) and got it installed. Unfortunately the headlamp washer nozzle snapped in the 20 degree weather while trying to disconnect the hose. It didn't break cleanly and I'm missing a chunk. Superglue isn't going to salvage this one[V]

Can somebody please look up the part number? It isn't marked on the broken one. 2002 G500 passenger side if it matters. My local high priced parts department is open in the morning - if anybody can do this ASAP I'll appreciate it. Maybe the parts gods will smile in my favor and it will be instock.

If anybody wants the old light to experiment retrofitting to early years let me know. You can have it. These really are great lights. Just Paypal the shipping costs to me. Preference to anyone in the lower 48 states (especially if they get me that part #!).

If it's the same as the ones on the 2000 G500, the P/N is: A.000.860.08.47. Same on each side.

Price in Europe is: €7,74 or about US$10.50. Expensive little bugger!

The number is good for 02s also.

Local Dealer $27
Caliber $9.43

I see an opportunity for a 3rd party to make some money selling parts in Chicago.

I just had to purchase the o-ring seal for the oil level sensor on my engine. A simple o-ring.

Local dealer = $7.20 (Yes!!)
Europe = ~US$2.80
Web Part House = $3.14

These local dealers can be real whore dogs, which is not at all the same as a horehound. [}:)]

Local dealers.......

To make matters worse I have to go down in person and pre-pay for anything special order. No credit card orders over the phone????? Since I own a G and a 1966 230S (111.010) just about everything I need is special order. One call to Caliber where they know who I am even though I live half a continent away.

I swear my dealer is trying to lose their parts business, and I buy a lot of parts.
