headlight replacement

'97 S320 w/ a cracked right headlight;
just got a quote & found that pretty much the whole light area has to be replaced...$500.

Anyone know if there is a cheaper way of having this done other than through a dealer? And also, will a new light match the left lamp brightness, now that the car is 6 years old?

Any help is much appreciated.

Headlight Replacement

The glass lens can be replaced seperately from the whole housing. Being that the lens is glass it should not appear any different from the other undamaged one. I have detailed instructions from another forum. I can e-mail you a copy.

It has tons of used parts listed for wreckers located all over Canada and the US . . .
