I was installing my new 2002 headlights today and got down to the last washer/bolt and tightened a little bit too much and broke off the end of the mounting screw.

It looks like its painted on to the frame. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can just pound that through and get another screw for that mounting point and washer/bolt or what.

Thanks in advance guys!

Did you break the bolt that is holding the top of the headlight assembly or one of the two stationary studs below the assembly?

Sorry, I should have clarified. It is one of the stationary studs at the bottom.

Any suggestions?

I don't recall offhand how it’s attached, but if it’s spot-welded, you should be able to cut it off flush, drill it out, and replace it. Of course this would require a new spot-weld. If you don’t have the equipment to do that and don’t want to pay for it, then you might be able to use a carriage bolt in its place.
