Hi there,
I've got a CLK W208 xenon headlamp registered in Germany.
By law I have to registered the car in the UK as I'm living in the UK as well; I've got almost everything done despite the headlamps.
I can move the headlamp up and down with the screw on top of the but can't change right to left the screw doesn't seem to do anything.
Is there a way to switch the Headlamp for driving on the left side of the road with the W208 Model?
Regards.

I dont think so with the xenons because of the projector pattern. Used "normal" headlights are quite cheap in the UK or fit some new "copy brand" there are many specialist mercedes breakers in the UK , Dronsfields of oldham for example. Good Luck

Many thanks for your reply.

Is it possible to install "normal headlights" so that I've got xenon's one fitted in?
Even is possible I'm quite sure it will cost at least £200 for both Headlights!

This registration starts to get on my nerves to be honest, I think the british officials are only focus on money... £70 for this £55 for that +mot +road tax +modifications +british insurance. I spent £600 my application was rejected. I do understand why there are some many foreigns car not registered in the uk. They just make your life difficult. I want to registered my car but all the time something happens. But this is a different topic! :)

I have the same problem with my old w210 in France It just gets kept in the garage. You could take day ferry trips out to France? It may reset the time by which the car has entered the country. This is all quite new I knew a car stay German registered here in UK for at least three years. But regulations are tightening all the time!

I know exactly what you mean. I should leave the car for at least 6 months abroad for having the right to come back.
Anyway I think I gonna sell my beautiful CLK and buy a UK one.
So if somebody is interrested take a look at:
