i know this should be in the audio section, but i had no replies last time i posted there. i'm trying to replace my original head unit and speakers with a sony xplode and some other components. the head unit is the premium option for when the car was bought new, it's listed as an extra $400 on the bill of sale. it's a sony and it says xr 6000 on the front. can anyone tell me how to remove this head unit and how much alterations will have to be made to the wiring to put in my new xplode? wiring diagrams? thanks!

Sony head units were never put in the car at the factory. If it's on the invoice the dealer put it in. To remove the head unit take out the ash tray and their should be two tabs on the bottom of the radio that you press in and pull the radio out. The way the radio is held in may be a little different on yours since it is not a factory radio. They probably already made alterations to the wiring when that sony head unit was put in.
